I. Duty Firearm Receipt and Carry Procedure

A. Company Issued Firearm

I hereby acknowledge that I have received a Glock 17, Gen 3, 9mm from Allied Universal Security Services for use while on-duty at Alexander Real Estate as a Security Response Team Officer. I understand that I may carry this firearm only as authorized at Alexander Real Estate, and then loaded only with Allied Universal Security Services authorized ammunition. While on duty, I hereby acknowledge that my duty weapon will remain on my person at all times.

I agree to return the firearm, holster, speed loaders, ammunition, and any other associated Allied Universal owned equipment to the Company immediately upon my removal or transfer from Alexander Real Estate, or upon my separation from the Company.

II. Firearms Storage

B. Home Storage

In accordance with Alexander Real Estate Policy, it is prohibited to store or leave unattended firearms, whether personal or duty issued, on Alexandria property. This is regardless of safes or lock boxes that may be present in vehicles or offices.

I hereby acknowledge that I am responsible for safely storing the firearm identified below that Allied Universal has issued to me, when I am not on duty, or I am in transit to or from my assigned, armed job site. I will adhere to the following requirements and fully understand that failure to do so may result in injury or death to myself or others. Also, violations of these requirements may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

I understand that the firearm issued to me is a company-owned firearm and is authorized for use at the job site and for my assigned job duties only, and that use, demonstration, or wielding of my firearm outside of the worksite is strictly prohibited.

When not at work, or commuting to and from work, I will safely secure the firearm, with the provided cable or trigger lock properly affixed as per manufacturer’s recommendations and in accordance with any state or local requirement. I must maintain a current and valid license to carry a firearm and/or a valid armed security officer license as a precondition to employment as an armed security professional. I also understand I must be in possession of all local, county and/or state permits required to transport and/or possess the assigned firearm and ammunition. I understand that it is my responsibility to know and abide by all local, county, and state laws and regulations regarding the use, possession and transportation of firearms and related equipment.

I must minimize any stops on my commute to or from work while transporting a company firearm, whether or not it is loaded. (Note: Many jurisdictions dictate whether and how a firearm may be stored in a motor vehicle, and further limit access to certain premises (e.g., bars, educational institutions, and government buildings) while carrying a firearm.) In the event a stop is necessary, I will maintain possession of the firearm in a concealed status. The storage of the firearm will take place prior to departing the work site so as to not attract attention at location where the stop is being made.

I understand that it is against company policy (with the limited exception in the preceding bullet item) and against the law in many areas to leave a firearm unattended in a motor vehicle.

I must be in possession of all local, county and/or state permits required to transport and/or possess the assigned firearm and ammunition. It is my responsibility to know and abide by all local, county, and state laws and regulations regarding then use, possession, and transportation of firearms and related equipment.

I must immediately inform my Allied Universal manager of any conditions that may affect my licensure or permit and that I must surrender the assigned firearm and duty gear immediately as required or upon request in a manner that is consistent with applicable law.

If assigned to a job that does not have facilities for loading and unloading the firearm:

I understand that the firearm shall remain loaded and secured in a holster when traveling to and from my assigned armed job site.

I understand that the firearm will be loaded and unloaded in the safest location and manner within my residence in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and may not be loaded or unloaded in the presence of others. After loading the firearm, I will immediately secure the firearm in the holster issued by Allied Universal.

If assigned to a job site that does have facilities for loading and unloading the firearm, but not storage:

I understand that the firearm will be loaded and unloaded at the job site in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, as well as client and Allied Universal policies.

I understand that the unloaded firearm will be transported to and from the armed job site in a secured travel container and in accordance with state and local regulations and company policy.

As a reminder, a person with a BSIS issued exposed firearms permit may carry an exposed firearm ONLY when performing the duties of his/her qualifying license or registration. This registration and exposed firearm permit does not permit a security guard to carry a firearm while off duty, unless the guard is traveling to or from his/her residence, worksite or firearm range.

A security guard who carries a concealed weapon while on duty in civilian clothes must possess and carry both the guard registration card and exposed firearms permit issued by the BSIS AND satisfy one of the following three requirements: (1) possess a concealed weapons permit (CCW) issued by a local law enforcement agency; or (2) be an active duty peace officer employed as a security guard/bodyguard by a private patrol operator, or by the person or the entity being protected; or (3) be an honorably retired peace officer, with an endorsement to carry a concealed weapon, and employed as a security guard/bodyguard by a private patrol operator, or by the person or entity being protected.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS REGARDING USE, STORAGE, TRANSPORTATION, OR MAINTENANCE OF FIREARMS MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS UP TO AND INCLUDING TERMINATION
